Holiday Park Resort - One of Western Canada's Best

Location, location, location --- plus climate --- plus service. They all add up to Holiday Park Resort, arguably the best RV & condo resort in Western Canada, if not the country.

Ideally located just a few minutes off Highway 97, at the north end of Kelowna, Holiday Park is at the heart of the Okanagan valley with easy access to all the amenities that have made this region one of the top Canadian visitor destinations. The Park serves several thousand residents and visitors in award-winning fashion every year; and topping this sweet combination is another essential ingredient --- the exceptional climate, which is one of the sunniest, warmest and driest in Canada.

Founded in 1983 on the shores of peaceful Duck Lake, Holiday Park has grown to become a year round vacation destination for a wide range of travelers. There are now more than 3,000 Resort members who are joined by visitors from 26 countries, every U.S. state and every Canadian province. And its not just the reputation that draws in the travelers, but also the unique landmark along Highway 97: just keep your eyes on the road and turn at the 70-ton historic sailing ship!

“There are similar resorts in the States but there’s nothing in Canada quite like it,” muses Dan Sigal, Holiday Park Team Coach and President. He first watched The Park take shape under the guidance of his father, whose vision launched the facility, and then with his own involvement. “It’s our diversity that sets us apart.”

The Park boasts 500 leasehold RV sites and 70 visitor RV sites, all fully serviced, and landscaped for membership and rental. Each site is more than 2,000 square feet in size, back-in with level cement pads, patio area and picnic tables.

In addition, visitors and residents enjoy 68 leasehold condominium units and 49 timeshare vacation condominiums. Holiday Park is a member of Coast to Coast Resorts and Resort Parks International, which provides a valuable membership network; and The Park offers timeshare ownership through Interval International.

The amenities of Holiday Park are unsurpassed. There is a security staff that works around the clock, as well as a perimeter fence. The Park features three recreation centers, an on-site golf course, several swimming pools and hot tubs, a children’s playground, family activity room, walking paths, a convenience store/ coffee shop, and two restaurants. There’s a tennis court, a basketball court, a horseshoe pitch and shuffleboard. For more fun, rent a bike or a canoe for an outing on Duck Lake (there’s a bird sanctuary and motorized vehicles are not permitted), or maybe one of the golf carts that are the major transportation mode within The Park.

The Okanagan boasts numerous golf courses at all levels, from Par 3 to Championship; dozens of world-class wineries; and exquisite boating opportunities. Less than a half-hour drive from the gates of Holiday Park are Okanagan Lake (where Ogopogo resides); Wood Lake; and Kalamalka Lake, not to mention the many fishing lakes in the hills above. Hiking and biking trails abound in the area, including the Kettle Valley trestles.

Winter recreational opportunities are bountiful, too. Two of BC’s best downhill ski resorts, Big White and Silver Star, are within easy driving of The Park. Cross-country ski venues are located in those same areas; in fact, Sovereign Lake Nordic Centre, adjacent to Silver Star Resort, has hosted several world-class events.

Just south of The Park along Hwy 97, Kelowna International Airport offers daily direct flights to Seattle, Vancouver, Victoria, Calgary, Edmonton and Toronto. Further down the highway is the city of Kelowna, with its myriad of shopping, cultural and sporting facilities. With a population of 107,000, Kelowna is the largest community in the Okanagan and serves as transportation, business and service hub of the valley.

Holiday Park is a fully Canadian owned and operated resort, with ownership and management still retained by the founding Sigal family. A most recent addition is a full service real estate office, Sweet Life Realty. The Park has been awarded for community involvement and for their commitment to the environment.
